Grandvalira
Grandvalira is the largest ski area in the Pyrenees: more than 215 km of skiing and 140 pistes across seven linked sectors, from Encamp to Pas de la Casa. The Andorra Pass goes further, covering all three ski areas in the country and over 300 km in total.
We are a local incoming agency: passes ready on arrival, slope-side hotels, lessons with native-speaking instructors, delivered equipment and transfers from Barcelona or Toulouse, all arranged by people who ski here every week.

Beyond the marked pistes, every sector adds freeride zones, freestyle snowparks and signposted ski-touring routes.
Which sector should you choose?
All seven sectors share one pass and are lift-linked, but each has its own character. This is how we match them to our travellers.
Soldeu
The best all-rounder: wide pistes, high altitude and the area's longest-established ski school. Our usual choice for intermediates and families who already ski. Children also have the themed Yokai circuit.
El Tarter
The freestyle base, home to the leading snowparks, and where the ski day turns into après: L'Abarset is at the foot of the slopes. Younger skiers have the Turbo Snow Explorers circuit.
Canillo
Easy gondola access from the village and a family atmosphere. It is also home to Màgic Gliss, a 555-metre alpine coaster reaching 40 km/h.
Pas de la Casa
High altitude beside the French border: dependable snow, a young atmosphere, shopping and lively après. Ideal for skiers who want everything within walking distance.
Grau Roig
The only sector without a village: a quiet mountain bowl surrounded by forest. Kids Forest helps young beginners, while the ice-climbing area offers something different.
Encamp
The quickest gateway from the central valley: park below, ride the Funicamp and be on the snow in about 20 minutes. Ideal when staying in Encamp or the capital.
El Peretol
A small sector near Soldeu focused on freestyle and night skiing. A good choice for making the most of every hour on snow.

Mountain Pass
For ski touring: access to dedicated routes throughout Andorra, including one lift ascent and descent per day on authorised lifts.

Grandvalira with children
It is one of the best-equipped family ski areas in the Pyrenees, with facilities spread across its sectors:
- Kids Forest beginner areas in Grau Roig, Encamp and Pas de la Casa.
- Themed circuits with characters, tunnels and surprises: Turbo Snow Explorers in El Tarter and Yokai in Soldeu.
- Rastres de l'Hivern, a snowshoe circuit where children explore the winter forest through play.
- Nurseries and baby clubs for ages 1–6 in Canillo, Soldeu, El Tarter and Grau Roig, available by half or full day.
- More than 500 instructors across six schools, with private and group lessons for every level.

Après-ski and food
Grandvalira finishes the day in style. L'Abarset in El Tarter is Andorra's après-ski landmark, with music, a terrace and mountain atmosphere well into the afternoon. The ski area also has more than 60 places to eat, from quick self-service restaurants and grills to venues by Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany, panoramic terraces and high-altitude dinners.

Getting there
Every sector has road and lift access, from Encamp to Pas de la Casa. The Funicamp reaches the slopes from Encamp in about 20 minutes, while Canillo and El Tarter have village gondolas. Allow around 3 hours from Barcelona via the N-145 and about 2½ hours from Toulouse. If you are travelling without a car, we arrange a private ski-rack transfer to your hotel and daily transport to the slopes.

1. How many kilometres and pistes does Grandvalira have?
Grandvalira has more than 215 km of skiing across 140 pistes: 23 green, 53 blue, 46 red and 20 black, plus snowparks, freeride areas and ski-touring routes. The Andorra Pass expands this to all three Andorran ski areas and more than 300 km.
2. When does Grandvalira open and what are the lift hours?
The season normally runs from December to April and can extend into May when snow allows. General lift hours are 9:00 to 17:00, with variations by sector and conditions.
3. How do I get to Grandvalira?
There are access points in every sector, from Encamp to Pas de la Casa, connected by road and lifts. Barcelona is around 3 hours away and Toulouse about 2½ hours; we can arrange a private ski-rack transfer to your hotel.
4. Is Grandvalira suitable for children?
Yes. It has Kids Forest areas, themed circuits such as Turbo Snow Explorers and Yokai, nurseries for ages 1–6 in four sectors and over 500 instructors across six ski schools.
5. Which ski pass should I buy?
For most visitors, the Andorra Pass offers the most flexibility across Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís. Mountain Pass is designed for ski touring. Tell us your dates and levels and we will arrange the right option in advance.
6. Can I hire equipment at the ski area?
Yes, every sector has ski and snowboard hire. When you book through us, your equipment can be prepared for arrival or delivered to the hotel so your first morning is not lost in a queue.
