Andorra is an excellent family destination: its four mountain areas become snow playgrounds in winter and adventure parks in summer, with magical children's trails, Naturland's Tobotronc, family thermal bathing at Caldea and the year-round Palau de Gel. The country is compact, so days are not lost in the car.

The right plan for each age
The useful question is not ‘what exists?’ but ‘what suits my children?’ This is how we divide it:
Babies to age 3
A gentle day: farm animals and ponies at Naturland level 2000, suitable thermal time, flat walks such as Camí de les Pardines and hotels with pools, playrooms and room for naps.
Ages 4–8
Search for the seven Tamarros, follow Macarulla story trails, ride Tobotronc, try first skis in Pal Arinsal and explore Canillo's Mon(t) Magic family park.
Ages 9–12
Longer walks and more adrenaline: Tristaina lakes, Engolasters adventure courses, Pal Arinsal Bike Park, snowtubing and dog sledding.
Teenagers
Introductory freeride in Ordino Arcalís, mountain biking, easy guided via ferratas, Big Zip and a shopping or Caldea day to balance the family itinerary.

Where to stay with children
The hotel can make or break a family trip. Three bases work well: slope-side with childcare and a playroom for ski holidays, central Andorra la Vella or Escaldes with a pool and easy Caldea access, or a mountain setting in La Massana or El Tarter.
